There is no common rule. La Poste publishes a calendar for each site: for 11 November 2026, only 22 sites out of 19,068 are not marked closed (La Poste data, read on 30/10/2026). The other networks do not publish their shops' public holiday hours: the point's page then says "To be confirmed".

In Alsace-Moselle, 26 December is also a public holiday, as is Good Friday in towns with a Protestant church or a shared church.
A public holiday is not always a day off. Apart from 1 May, it depends on the collective agreement, a company agreement or the employer (Service-public.gouv.fr). A partner shop may therefore open or close.

Post offices, local postal agencies and La Poste relay shops combined. This calendar can change: the one on each point's page is taken again at every update of our data.
On La Poste point pages, these hours appear under "Public holidays and special opening hours" for the next 5 weeks. The official locator remains the reference on the day.
Mondial Relay, Pickup, Relais Colis and the others
We found no official list of shops open on a public holiday for these networks. On their pages, the holiday line therefore says "To be confirmed": we never show invented hours.

Parcel lockers
A locker listed as open 24/7 has no closing time, but it may stand in a place that closes: a shopping centre, a car park, a shop. Check its page and see pickup point or parcel locker.
Parcel lockers in the largest cities:
Delivery times and holding periods
- La Poste's delivery times: for letters, it counts in working days, Monday to Saturday, excluding national and local public holidays (La Poste).
- Colissimo: lorries over 7.5 tonnes do not run on public holidays, from 10pm the day before to 10pm on the day. Transit may take longer as a result (La Poste).
- Other carriers: there is no common rule. Rely on the date given by the seller and on the tracking.
- Holding period: depending on the carrier, public holidays may or may not count. Take the date in your message literally: see how long a parcel stays at a pickup point.
Before you travel on a public holiday
- Check the collection deadline in your message.
- Open the point's page and read "Public holidays and special opening hours".
- If the line says "To be confirmed", call the shop if its number is known, or go the day before.
- Look for an open point near you, or a locker if you need to drop off a parcel.
- Point closed on the last day? See what to do if the pickup point is closed.
Frequently asked questions
Are pickup points open on 11 November?
It depends on each shop. In the La Poste calendar read on 30/10/2026, only 22 sites out of 19,068 are not marked closed that day (La Poste data). For the other networks, no official list exists as far as we know.
Can my parcel be delivered on a public holiday?
It depends on the carrier and the service. Follow the tracking and read the terms: we publish no rule without an official page.
Does a public holiday extend the collection deadline?
No official page we consulted provides for an automatic extension. Go before the deadline in your message, or contact the carrier.
Why does the page say "To be confirmed"?
Because the network does not publish its shops' public holiday hours. La Poste pages, on the other hand, show the published calendar.
