Privacy policy

This policy describes the data processed by Relais autour de moi when you search for a pickup point or post a review, why it is processed, how long it is kept and your rights.

This is a translation for information. If it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.

1. Data controller

The data controller is BUSINHASS, sole proprietorship HASS ARTHUR, publisher of the website (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: contact@relaisautourdemoi.fr.

2. Optional account, no tracking cookies

Relais autour de moi can be used without signing up. The website sets no advertising or audience measurement cookies, and therefore shows no consent banner. If you sign in, a single technical cookie, necessary for the service, keeps your session open for 30 days on this device.

Your choice of light or dark theme, your favourite points, recently viewed points and the parcel numbers you track are saved in your browser's local storage. They do not leave your device and you can delete them at any time from the website or in your browser settings.

Scanning a barcode on the tracking page uses your device's camera, with your permission: the image is analysed in the browser and is never sent.

3. Cookie-free audience measurement

To know which pages are useful and to improve the website, the website's server counts page views and a few actions (starting a search, opening directions, sharing a point, tracking a parcel), without cookies and without any outside service. The following are recorded: the page viewed (without the search parameters), the website you came from (its domain name only), the type of device (phone, tablet, computer) and, for a search, its type (town, address, shop) and the town concerned, to show on a map of the website's statistics the towns where people search: never the address, the text entered, the exact position or the parcel number. The position of the search is rounded to about 1 km in your browser, then replaced by the server with the nearest town, without being kept.

To count the visitors of a given day, a fingerprint is calculated from your IP address and your browser with a key that changes every day: it does not contain your IP address and cannot recognise you from one day to the next. This data is only used for overall statistics, is neither combined with other data nor passed on to anyone, and is deleted after 13 months. This measurement is exempt from consent (CNIL recommendations on audience measurement).

You can object to it at any time with the button below (the choice is kept in this browser). Browsers set to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control are never counted.

4. Data processed

Depending on what you do on the website, the following data is processed:

  • Address, town, shop or postcode entered in the search: sent by the website's server to the IGN geocoding service (Géoplateforme) to be located, then used to find nearby points. The shops and places suggested come from a copy of OpenStreetMap kept on the website's server: searching for them does not leave the website. To suggest what is near you first, a position rounded to about 1 km goes with what you type: that of the current search, of the town page you are viewing, of your device if you have already allowed location on this website, or of the last place searched for (kept for 30 days in your browser only). Your IP address is not sent to IGN.
  • Your device's position, only if you press "Near me" and allow it in your browser: the coordinates are used to find nearby points and to show the matching address (IGN reverse geocoding). They appear in the address of the results page, which lets you share it: do not share this link if you do not want to reveal your position.
  • Technical connection data (IP address, date, page requested, browser): processed by the server and by the base map provider to deliver the pages and the map images, and kept in the server's technical logs for 14 days at most, for security and troubleshooting.
  • If you post a review: the rating, the comment, the photos and the first name or nickname you choose (published on the point's page), your email address (never shown, used to confirm the review and to let you remove it) and a non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address (to fight abuse). Photos are resized and stripped of their metadata, including the GPS position. An unconfirmed review is deleted after 48 hours; a published review is kept as long as it is online, and deleted with its photos as soon as you remove it.
  • If you report a review: the reason, any details given and a fingerprint of your IP address, kept with the review.
  • If you create an account: your email address (confirmed by a link), your password in encrypted form (scrypt, never in plain text, unreadable even by the publisher), the dates of creation and last sign-in, your favourite points and the numbers of the parcels you track, so you can find them on all your devices. Links sent by email expire after 15 minutes and sessions after 30 days; only a fingerprint of them is kept. The account is kept until you delete it: the "My account" page lets you delete it at any time, with or without your reviews.

5. Purposes and legal basis

This data is only used to answer your search, to display the map, to publish and moderate reviews, and to keep the website secure. The processing is based on the publisher's legitimate interest in providing the service requested and, for geolocation and reviews, on your voluntary action.

No data is sold, used for advertising or linked to your identity. Searches are not recorded in a history.

6. Recipients and processors

The providers needed for the service are:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): website hosting.
  • IGN, Géoplateforme (France): address search and reverse geocoding.
  • OpenFreeMap: base maps; this service receives the IP address and the area displayed in order to send the map images.
  • OVH (France): sending review confirmation emails and sign-in links.
  • InPost (Mondial Relay): the official photos of Mondial Relay points are loaded from its servers, which then receive the visitor's IP address.
  • Amazon (Amazon Associates programme): the "Shipping supplies" links lead to amazon.fr with an associate identifier; once on amazon.fr, Amazon's privacy policy applies. No data is passed to Amazon by this website.

7. Your GDPR rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection by writing to contact@relaisautourdemoi.fr. As the website does not keep your searches, it generally holds no data about you apart from the technical logs and the reviews you have posted. Each review can be removed at any time with the link received by email when it was published.

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).

8. Security and updates

Exchanges with the website are encrypted (HTTPS). This policy may change to reflect the service, the regulations or the providers; the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
